It’s been a painful amount of time since I’ve posted, so here it goes.
Me, my hubby, and my dog have moved to Providence, RI, leaving dear old Baton Rouge behind. The trouble with moving, as an artist, is finding/creating the space to make work. Thus, I’ve been jerry-rigging a hand papermaking studio for myself in a wee corner of a very dark basement.

We (me + significant other + dog) traveled 30 minutes north of Baton Rouge to find the world’s largest living Bald Cypress tree and rumors of cliffs and waterfalls hidden in the woods.

The visit was my award won at the 5th National Collegiate Handmade Paper Art Exhibition, shown at Rutgers and the Corcoran Center. Thank-you Beck Whitehead for being a great host!

This past March, I was part of a collaborative handmade paper and video art installation, Channels, which coincided with the SGC International Printmaking 2012 Conference in New Orleans. Channels is part of the art exhibition, Uncharted Territories: A Printscape, which featured emerging artists from South Louisiana working in printmaking based mediums.
