Living Sculpture: Milkweed Interbeing
Living plants and sculptural paper made from local fibers dissolve, grow, connect, and transform into each other.
A season’s growth and decay in late September 2026. Milkweed Interbeing, 2026, milkweed, flax, cotton rag, seaweed, grapevine, daylily, coreopsis, lupine, forsythia, New England aster, purple coneflower, creeping thyme, beeswax, twine. 5 x 4 x 4 feet. Osamequin Farm, Seekonk, MA.
Common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) is many things, all at once. Milkweed and flax paper forms are attached to growing plants and grapevine weavings, moving with growth.
Milkweed Interbeing continues to transform through seasons, growth, decay, storms, sunlight, weeding, germination, and weaving of living branches.
